Free service allows vocalists/emcees to record over original beats using a microphone and a browser.

Los Angeles, CA (PRWeb) April 3, 2007 — Dopetracks, LLC announced today the launch of its new site Dopetracks.com, a web-based platform for creating original musical collaborations between people who are miles apart.

Producers are invited to upload their original beats while vocalists can browse the growing library of music and record their own lyrics. “We want people to come to our site and express themselves however they want.” said Kevin Cohen, Marketing Manager and founder. “Hip Hop seems like a natural fit but we encourage all styles and genres.”

Using Dopetracks.com is relatively simple; all that is required is a microphone and a high speed Internet connection. Furthermore, the site has been designed to work with all major browsers and operating systems. “Dopetracks.com was built with usability in mind. We’ve tried to take the mystery out of the recording process hoping it would lead to more use and ultimately more content,” said Tal Pink, CTO and co-founder.

Tracks are currently limited to 60 seconds and recorded at streaming quality. Cohen believes that fans will be attracted to the site to hear the latest instant creations despite their lo-fi quality. “We’re not creating broadcast quality recordings here. We’re enabling users to connect with other artists of similar tastes and express their raw talent. Hopefully, this can lead to future collaborations in the studio.”

Uploaded beats and recorded tracks are available immediately for the community to judge and are shareable with other social networks such as Myspace and personal blogs. Members can challenge each other’s recordings in a virtual freestyle battle, vote for their favorite tracks, leave comments and customize their profiles. In addition, the heart of the site, the Dopetracks recorder, has some innovative features such as an on-line notepad that saves lyrical ideas whenever inspiration strikes.

Who made this?
We did! Dopetracks was created by a small band of music lovers. We think that there is so much talent out there that needs to be heard. We built dopetracks from the ground up to level the playing field by letting budding bedroom MCs and Producers have a shot at being heard by the world.
