Wassup With the Girls on DT?
The girls on DT are killing the boys. Ok, there’s a lot less, but as an average, I say the girls have got the fire. How you feel about that, huh?
When it came to nominations for Lady Emcee 2007, a lot of people were scratching their heads, wondering if there was anyone to pick from. You know I’m a geek and I had to investigate, so I went through the site before I did my nomination to find all the girl emcees (the list below misses out on some of the newest ones). And maybe i’m just trying to ruffle your feathers by saying the girls are better, but, honestly, we’re letting some talent slip through the net here. I saw fiasco poet announced her last track on DT and it made me think…WHATS UP WITH THE GIRL EMCEES?
Let me ask you: when was the last time a girl hit you up to listen to their track? I can think of just one girl who ever promotes to me and I’d expect a lot to hit me up. Why don’t lady emcees hussle? I’ve got a whole bunch of theories as to why they don’t but push their sound, but i’m not gonna bore you with it. You tell me. And let the music speak.

Jay Cee Pretty - a voice to die for and every red blooded male on DT - plus a few of the girls - wants to sleep with her. Have i sold her well enough?.
Rozer - Shadow Schools bitches.. 100% real and deserves attention!)
Joystar- A true DT soldier - she’s putting the work in since right near the start and deserves the props. She’s been doing it longer and more than any other girl on the site, plus she ain’t afraid to take Don Dope on. That’s my girl!
8Spade - A serious heavy hitter, her 70 point track ‘warrior’ tore up the front page at the end of 2007.. she’s gonna be big in 08 if we can keep her spitting!

Right now I’m excited by Shana, TRUTH and Drinkinstein.
lollipops - nice freestyles, I got a feeling we’ll be hearing more from this girl… link her up!
TRUTH - my current favorite: real nice solid flow and a great voice.
shorty40 - new girl from Ontario, with some nice rhymes and a whole lotta attitude.. I’m watching this one! Get at me 40!
Blaq_Cherry - just two produced tracks so maybe she’s just producing and not staying, but DAMN she’s good. Peep her verse on her jazzy joint and you’ll be a new fan for certain. I think she’s a buddy of Don’s
dominion - she’s got a kinda wild style on teh nerdcore side.. i think she’s gonna be hot.. we did a nice collabo here)
LordFaa - I love this girl. She used to be medio..something , but she got a new profile. She comes and goes, but that’s fine. She can do what she damn well likes as far as I’m concerned.
Drinkinstein - Fly nerdcore champion… featured on the mixtape a couple of times, we all love her, huh?
Kash - Just recorded a couple, but she’ll grow…
run_in_watta - raps, sings, produces.. has her own sound… watch out! A little more involved in the community and she’d be wining all sorts of shit! Check her Myspace for some more fire and pix of her with member of Wu Tang. That’s enough for me God damn it.
Ladyprop - she’s got class, show her some love.
NenaFresca - she’s gonna hit form and jump up, i know it.
MisscutieT - Looks great, sound like she might be bringing something fresh (mainly a singer).. but she hasn’t done much in a few weeks.. don’t let her slip!
Deuces - only done a coupe of rough things but I smell some talent!
kween - don’t be put off what looks like typical girly girl.. this lady has got something
dynazty - I gotta admit that I totally slept on Dynazty all year but DAMN she is good. I’m an idiot.
mikkijeane - kinda like a rock JayCeePretty.. I think she just did a day of spitting but I hope she returns.
ChonnieGold - Another one that came and possibly went.. we gotta lure her back
Chain - sounded like she could grow into something good.

NeeCee4life - she is (was?) one of the best for real - listen to her last track (ok, it was 3 months ago) but it had a lot of energy.
Albany - this girl took on dopeman and represented with honour. Big props to Albany
shana_shanell - this has seriously nice flow… check her for damn sure. Trust me, I’m on her back for collaboration!
pecandream - had a nice style
RIP Probably gone, but worth a mention….

Eve, Queen Pen, Queen Latifah, Heather, Foxy Brown, Lil Kim, Rah Digga, Trina, Jacki O… And don’t even get me started on dancehall emcees cos the Jamaican & UK girls are straight killing it too. yea the AVERAGE girl is probably better than the AVERAGE guy but thats cuz a lot less girls take a shot at hip hop…on the other hand alot of dudes think they can just pick up a mic and do this…the shit takes practice, and a girl who has any talent has probably worked on her skill
